CompuTrainer Classes

  • Intro/Assessment Class Do you find the idea of CompuTrainer classes a bit intimidating? These 60-minute introductory sessions are aimed at demystifying indoor cycling by taking each rider through the bike set-up and bike removal process and describing the basics of training with power. They also include a short workout which can be used to assess your power output capability or simply to prepare new riders for the regular interval classes by giving them a sense of their current cycling fitness. Riders of ALL levels welcome!

  • 60-Minute Intervals Our 60-minute "non-shifting" classes are the heart of IndoorPower. They include a short warm-up, a set of highly specific & demanding intervals, concluded with a short cool-down. In most cases, these classes leave the thinking up to the computer and riders simply work against personalized levels of resistance - and there's no need for shifting gears - but occasionally we turn the tables and allow the computer to only measure our work rather than dictate it.

  • 90-Minute Intervals These 90-minute interval classes challenge riders in the same way as the 60-minute classes with the obvious addition of 30 extra minutes. Sometimes we'll mix things up by allowing riders to shift gears on a rolling course while measuring the work rather than allowing the CompuTrainers to dole it out. These shifting versions of our workouts allow riders to feel as though they are on an actual road with changing grades, aka hills, requiring the use of your bike's gears. More akin to riding outside, the shifting workouts let riders decide just how hard they want to work.

  • Movie Ride These 90-minute base-mileage workouts are a great way to build your aerobic engine while watching a movie, cycling event, or TV series. You can even bring your own DVD to be voted on prior to the start of the ride. Riders then perform a steady-effort workout with a little extra entertainment or distraction from the monotony that often accompanies long, slow distance work by your lonesome. You'll be surprised how
challenging and effective 90 solid minutes of moderate effort can be!

  • Team Ride These indoor training sessions allow local racing teams, cycling clubs, really groups of any type to train together without all of the distractions that can interrupt and degrade an outdoor group training session. They're a great place to safely workout with a group of riding partners and IndoorPower will even tailor workouts based on your group's specific training goals.

  • Open Ride These unstructured workouts allow each rider to tailor the workout to his/her specific needs or goals each ride. While watching your power, heart rate, speed, and other important training metrics, you can log indoor endurance miles during foul weather, race your classmates, or perform your own interval workout as you see fit. The choice is entirely yours.
